Najib! They tried to build a tower before...

5 But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building.

6 The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.

7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."

8 So the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city.

Genesis 11:5-8 (New International Version)

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

The three corner fight in Batu Sapi, Sabah, is a perfect example of STUPIDITY.

SAPP is either out of touch, being paid handsomely by BN to kacau daun and split the votes so that PKR will not have a chance in neither heaven nor hell to win the seat, or spectacularly stupid.

SAPP should just have consolidated their position by aligning with PKR and then fielding one candidate. Instead, its decision to fight a losing battle is arrogance of the highest degree and ultimately laughable. Now, PKR and SAPP both stand to loose. "Divided we fall," says the old saying. Might as well hand the seat uncontested over to the BN and not waste everybody's time.

PKR will now have to work very hard. Only one thing can assure PKR's victory: chaos in the BN camp, and there are signs that an UMNO faction is using Batu Sapi as the catalyst to oust Musa Aman should BN lose it. PBS's 'minta kasihan' tactic may work as Sabahans are just as sentiment-driven as Sarawakians. Only a united PR can win Batu Sapi, and the fight will be tough and dirty.

SAPP's rallying call of "Sabah for Sabahans" is the very thing I fear will happen in Sarawak. Mark my words.

Some stupid Iban or Dayak will probably, out of misplaced pride, throw in his lot to contest a seat with the similar cry of "Sarawak for Sarawakians" come the state elections and spoil any chance for the Opposition to have a straight fight with the BN. If this is to happen, then Taib's current covert strategy of planting anti-Malayan sentiments would have produced the desired results.

Be warned Dayaks! Do not end up like Batu Sapi.

Stay united under the banner of PR. Put aside parochial politics. DO NOT SPLIT THE VOTES no matter how much you are offered by BN. After you have achieved the ultimate goal and wrested the state from the BN, then you can think about setting up a Sarawak for Sarawakians and by Sarawakians. But until you can unite and kick Taib out, do not be greedy or stupid or worse, cut your nose to spite your face.

Be warned Sarawak! MARK MY WORDS.

Open letter to James Jemut Masing

Dear James

I read with a certain sense of mirth your comments published at Free Malaysia Today's article, "Insincere members will kill off BN in polls" today. Kindly allow me to respond, in red.

Very sincerely,

Antu Beduru

KUCHING: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) has warned that “insincerity” in the ranks of Barisan Nasional "may lead the coalition to lose" some of its seats to the opposition in the coming state election.

“We lost the Ngemah seat to an independent Gabriel Adit in the 2006 state election because of the betrayal by members of the BN.

“They voted for Adit instead of the PRS-BN candidate Alexander Vincent,” said PRS president James Masing.

“We lost Ngemah because of back-stabbing. Even now there exists in the BN insincerity which may lead the coalition to lose some of the seats in the coming polls.
Name one truly sincere politician who keeps his word like a gentleman, James. Just one.

“There are certain quarters in the BN who have been trying to undermine my leadership. I am aware of it. As a politician, you cannot avoid it. I have been informed by people outside the country of attempts to smear my name and to destabilise me as a politician. This is very unhealthy."
Why is it unhealthy, James? He who is upright and on the side of truth and justice has nothing to fear.

Masing, who is State Land Development Minister, was interviewed recently on the achievements, setbacks and future direction of the party in conjunction with PRS's sixth anniversary.

On the party's future, he expressed hoped that PRS would replace the defunct Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) as a leading Dayak-based party. “Our mission is to consolidate all the Dayak-based constituencies under one political umbrella. We hope to be the party for Dayaks by the Dayaks. “I want to do this before I quit politics,” said Masing.
You may fool all the people some of the time, you can even fool some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all the time, James. The Dayaks have abandoned the BN in droves and have put their trust in PKR and DAP. That is the political reality on the ground, and if you wish to dismiss it, by all means, do.

He, however, stressed that PRS's desire to have Dayak-based constituencies was not aimed at “competing against anybody”.
Yeah. Right. Jabu and Pesaka PBB, take note. Doctor James has spoken. Let the poaching begin.

“It will further strengthen the BN."It is not a competition against anybody; we do not have any hidden agenda, because the whole objective is to ensure that BN will be strengthened.”
There is a proverb in the Old Testament that says, "The guilty flee when none pursue." No one is pursuing you, James, so why are you hammering home this point? Unless...

Uncertain urban seats

Masing warned that the BN cannot rely too much on urban seats, because those seats were uncertain. “The BN has to depend on the rural seats to win in the coming election,” he added.
And how certain are you that the rural seats are yours for the taking? 101% certain, James? Do not be too confident of your 'fixed deposits'. They are tired of your incessant talking.

PRS was registered on Oct 21, 2004, the very day that PBDS was deregistered after an unsolvable leadership crisis between Daniel Tajem and Joseph Salang on one side and Masing and Sng Chee Hua on the other.

Like PBDS, PRS was also passing through turbulent and stormy political waters and even before its inaugural assembly on March 23, 2005, there were signs of cracks within the party.

This time, the quarrel was between Masing and his deputy over the direction of the party. When Sng was forced to step down, the leadership tussle continued with Sng’s son, Larry Sng, taking on the assault against Masing’s leadership.

The crisis, which almost led to its deregistration, ended in April 2009 after the Registrar of Societies recognised Masing’s authority to expel Sng and his supporters from the party. Sng is now partyless.

“Now we have got rid of money or towkay politics which have haunted Dayak political organisations since in 1963,” Masing said, adding that the party is now inculcating the spirit of self-reliance.

The fact that the party is on its own is itself a form of achievement, he said.

He said that PRS' biggest achievement was during the 2008 parliamentary election, when it won six seats – Julau, Kanowit, Lubok Antu, Selangau, Sri Aman and Ulu Rajang. Two of these, however, were won uncontested.

Masing said that PRS was slowly being accepted by the Dayak community and is recognised by the BN as a party to represent the Dayaks.

In the federal government, the party has two deputy ministers and a senator. At the state level, PRS has one full-fledged minister, two assistant ministers (actually three including the one assigned to Sng) and three political secretaries.

Masing said PRS wanted to play a bigger role in serving the people, especially those in the rural areas who needed attention and more development.

PRS, he added, could be the vehicle to deliver the goods and services to the rural people.
You had your chance to prove yourself to the Dayak community. We gave you so many elections and terms. Nothing has changed for the better. After 47 years of independence, we still have no tarred roads, electricity or clean piped water in the majority of rural and interior areas. It's not like we're asking for modern luxuries or shopping malls or tall buildings or flyovers and dual carriage-ways. We're only asking for the most basic necessities enjoyed by the rest of the citizenry of this prosperous nation so that our children can drink clean water, study at night and travel safely to school. Is that too much to ask, James?

It's a bit too late now, James. The Dayaks are tired of broken promises. It is time to give the Opposition a chance to prove themselves.

When silence is not golden nor elegant. Diau jenuh ukai reti nya manah sereta begaya.

It has been months since Sarawak Report (and now its Iban language mirror site, Sarawak Report in Iban) published startling exposé on the wanton corruption, nepotism, cronyism and indiscriminate abuse of power of the Chief Minister of Sarawak.

Sarawakians of all backgrounds have read these reports which have now become public knowledge and fodder for the Malaysian blogosphere. Even BN politicians, Council Negri members and Parliamentarians are quietly discussing these revelations in hushed and whispered tones in the hallowed sanctums of the halls of power. The Opposition has formally lodged complaints with the MACC, which would certainly have been secreted to the PM's immediate attention. These reports contain highly sensitive information and damning incriminating evidence that would be admissible in a Malaysian court of law.

In short, the mountain of evidence against Taib is too overwhelming to ignore.

In any democratic country in the world, such revelations would have resulted in public outcry, thanks to the unfettered media and freedom of the press, leading to an official public inquiry. But not so in Malaysia.

MACC has not taken any public action. None of the mainstream media has said a word. Not a single BN politician has alluded publicly to the revelations (although ALL of them know). The man himself, Abdul Taib Mahmud, remains completely silent. And the latest is that the Speaker of the Parliament has rejected a question from a member on the matter.

The proverb, "Silence is golden", refers to the silence maintained by a just person who has been wronged or wrongfully accused. Abdullah Badawi gave the phrase a new twist and added the word 'elegant'.

In the case of the Chief Minister of Sarawak, his silence is neither golden nor elegant because as a public servant, he is bound by oath and the conventions of public service (which include integrity, responsibility, accountability and transparency) to engage, rebut and dispel any accusations of wrongdoing hurled against him. To date, neither he nor his State Government has addressed the elephant in the room except issue a gag order to the local press. Why gag the press if you are innocent and have nothing to fear?

The Chief Miinister's silence is deafening. Such deafening silence, if not broken, can only point one to a singular conclusion: his thorough and undisputed culpability.

Prove the reports wrong, YAB Chief Minister, and clear your name. It does not require many words to speak the truth.

WAKE UP DAYAKS!

Najib, Rosmah, Prince Albert of Monaco, Prince Taib of Sarawak, Princess Rozie of Sarawak aka Datuk Raziah Mahmud-Geneid (Taib's sister).

See for yourself. Najib and Taib on the same stage at the Islamic Fashion Festival at Monte Carlo, Monaco, on 10th August, 2010. See the EVIDENCE. More EVIDENCE. Damning EVIDENCE.

Away from prying eyes in Sarawak, our princes and princesses live the high life on the international stage. Do you know who sponsored the event? And you wonder why Najib kowtows to Taib? All Taib has to do is tell his Sarawakian BN parliamentarians to remove their support from BN and Najib's government will fall. It is as simple as that. Taib has Najib by the balls. So who is more powerful? Taib or Najib? Who then really is the most powerful man in Malaysia?

Topple Taib and you topple BN.

But you cannot topple Taib because he is too smart for you. The Dayaks have been played by him for years. He has divided us and continues to keep us at each others' throats. As long as the Dayaks are not united, Taib remains the most powerful man in Malaysia.

What is Taib's latest strategy? Disunite the Dayaks further by planting the seed of 'anti-Malayanism'. Simple. Brilliantly simple.

Some Dayaks have bought into the 'anti-Malayan' strategy because they don't use their brains. We Dayaks are by nature an emotional race ruled by our sentiments. We engage mouth before we engage brain. And crafty old fox Taib knows that, and uses that to his advantage. It has been so easy for him to capitalise on our sentiments. Divide and rule.

Taib's cyber-troopers have been covertly and subtly planting the seeds of anti-Malayanism in our minds and we buy it. Examples: The facebook group Sejarah Sarawak and the blogs Sebanaku Sarawak and Beraiku Sarawak. This facebook group creates and instills patriotism for Sarawak while the blogs' main purpose is to defend Taib's position as leader and incite anti-Malayan feelings. The facebook group is administered by a young lady from PBB Wanita and the blogs are administered by the PBB cyber-warfare team, mostly PBB Youth. These people get paid. First, they gain your trust by whacking the BN. Then slowly, they introduce their poison. Old trick. But the Dayaks swallow hook, line and sinker and follow like cows pulled by the nose. This is the TRUTH!

Why create anti-Malayan feelings? Simple. Except for SNAP, all the other members of the Opposition coalition (Pakatan Rakyat) are from West Malaysia. By creating anti-Malayan feelings, the Dayaks will begin to distrust these parties. This distrust germinates into power struggles and in-fighting which then creates disunity and chaos in Pakatan Rakyat Sarawak. And a chaotic and disunited Opposition is a weak Opposition. And this is EXACTLY what Taib wants.

Taib wants the Malays and Dayaks to reject anything West Malaysian, including UMNO, so that he alone can rule Sarawak. By buying into his anti-Malayan strategy, you are giving Taib EXACTLY what he wants.

What about Borneonisation? Same thing. This is also part of the strategy. Let's be honest and realistic. Sarawak will never be able to secede out of Malaysia. Independence is a dream we all have but it will forever remain a dream. And we Dayaks are fond of dreaming. Taib knows that. That is why his spies planted a deliciously seductive dream: Borneonisation. Keep the Dayaks dreaming. That is Taib's strategy. Distract them from political realities and feed them sleeping pills called Borneonisation and anti-Malayanism.

We Dayaks are very good at talking. Taib knows that. But we are not very good at doing. Taib knows that too. Let me ask you: Is there any political party in Sarawak that has openly championed Borneonisation or listed independence as part of its manifesto? Any?

None. Why? Because in the real world of politics, independence is simply not an option. So stop dreaming! Wake up Dayaks!!! Spit out the sleeping pills Taib has been feeding you through his spies and operatives. Once you have woken up, ask yourself: "What option have I got?"

Pakatan Rakyat.

So what if PKR, PAS and DAP are from West Malaysia? The simple reality is that Sarawak will always be a part of Malaysia and we need to wake up and see the political reality and work within the system. This is the reality: Sarawakians must stop fighting each other, unite under the banner of PR and topple Taib. Focus on the goal. Focus on the big picture. Don't fall into Taib's trap and swallow his sleeping pills. Kick Taib out. And the only way you can do that is to vote him out. Which means stop all this anti-Malayan and Borneonisation nonsense and give your undivided support to the West Malaysian parties. Topple Taib first. And then we talk about Borneonisation.

Don't fall into the trap of the talk of a THIRD FORCE. Again, we need to focus on ousting and toppling Taib first. Very simple. Unite, vote him out. If we cannot even do something as simple as this, you think we can unite to form a THIRD FORCE? Kick Taib out first. Then we talk about Third Force. For now, let Raja Petra Kamal lead the charge on the Third Force. When Sarawak is ready AFTER we have kicked Taib out, then we join him and his Third Force. Don't water down our focus with too many issues.

Translate your cyber enthusiasm into REAL politics. Talking on facebook is one thing, but translating it into political reality is another. What have you done to educate and inform the rural folks? Have you printed out Sarawak Report and shown them to your relatives back home? Dayaks - stop dreaming, wake up! Now is your chance to topple Taib. No point shouting so loudly on facebook and blogs but doing nothing in the real world.

As for Pakatan Rakyat Sarawak (PKR, SNAP, DAP and PAS) - get your act together lah!!! How do you expect people to support you if you don't give them confidence?
1. Aunty Hafsah Harun, time you retire lah and jaga cucu.
2. Uncle Edwin Dundang, give way to the younger generation lah.
3. Uncle Jimmy Donald, focus on writing your books.
No disrespect to Hafsah, Edwin or Jimmy, but you guys had your chance and your time is over. It is now time for the younger generation to take over the fight. Look at Britain and America. Cameron is 44 years old and Obama is 50 years old. The world's two most powerful democracies are led by YOUNG LEADERS. Hafsah, Edwin and Jimmy...you are both much older than them. Take the hint and retire gracefully. And when PR comes to power, I will make sure they give all three of you Datukships. (Then again, could Taib be the dalang behind you guys, perhaps, to create havoc?)

Do you want to win small battles and lose the war, or do you want to lose some battles but win the war? Dani agi! (Wake up!)

Read Iban version: Angkat Dayak! Dani agi!!

AKU LAPAR! I am hungry!

“Sapa iya ti lelaki nya udah ngerampas tanah aku? Sapa iya ti indu nya udah neju ke bala anak aku lapar pungkang? Sapa bala sida nya ti udah ngasuh sungai menua tu langkang, kamah sereta berachun?

Kenyau ari kitai tu agi mit, kitai diajar pasal Petara nya ninga sereta ngemata ke kitai, lalu Petara nya meruan ingat.

Nyau lelak sereta puas aku udah bejaku. Jaku ti lalu nadai nuju sebarang pengawa. Tu meh ti ngasuh ati aku udu pedis sereta begedi, lebuh aku ingat ke jaku-jaku manis ti didinga aku ngelama tu, lalu pia mega jaku-jaku semaya ti seruran balang. Mayuh bendar jaku dipansut ke orang ti enda patut bejaku. Orang ti mansut ke jaku enggau enda berunding panjai.

Kitai tau enda beguna jaku ti mayuh dikena kitai nyebut utai ti amat sereta bendar. Enda ibuh dikenang bejam-bejam, lalu enda ibuh dilunjak-lunjak.

Peda kita pemanis jaku subuk orang ti teleba ngerumpak enggau ngenchuri, lebuh maya sida madah ke utai nya betul, taja pan salah, tau ke lebuh maya sida madah ke utai ti betul nya salah.

Kitai enda tau enda nyaga kampung jerung enggau kayu ti lama udah idup dia awak ke bisi dipeda raban orang ti dudi ari kitai, ke lebih agi ke raban sida ti apin ada ngagai dunya tu. Kitai mega enda tau enda ngintu rampa menua ngari ke utai idup ti enda nemu beserebana lebuh sida dituntung penusah, baka sida jelu babas, burung, ikan enggau kayu kampung.

Nyau datai ba maya kayu ti penudi iya ditebang kitai ila, sungai ti penudi iya diasuh kitai langkang sereta kamah ila, lalu ikan ti penudi iya ditangkap kitai ila, nya baru kitai deka nemu duit enda ulih empa kitai pia aja.”

“Who is he that steals my land? Who is she that makes my children go hungry? Who are they that swallow the rivers dry?

We were taught to believe that Petara sees and hears everything, and that Petara never forgets.

I am tired of talk that comes to nothing. It makes my heart sick when I remember all the good words and all the broken promises. There has been too much talking by men who have no right to talk.

It does not require many words to speak the truth.

One does not sell the earth upon which the people walk.

How smooth must be the language of the thieves, when they can make right look like wrong, and wrong like right.

We must protect the forests for our children, grandchildren and children yet to be born. We must protect the forests for those who can't speak for themselves such as the birds, animals, fish and trees.

Only after the last tree has been cut down, only after the last river has been poisoned, only after the last fish has been caught, only then will you find money cannot be eaten.”
